Korean spiders looks much different than those normally seen in the States. Smaller than the Daddy longlegs, but much thicker and jet black. At least the one that I saw. Kind of freaky. Crushed it with my shoe for like 2 minutes.
And, I'm creating a library database at work in the new English Center. We got a whole boat load of books, and I am putting all of their barcode #s, titles, authors and year of publication into a data sheet while also categorizing them by content (e.g. Modal verbs, Animals, Comedy, etc) as well as level of difficulty. However, as they ordered the books, they are split into 6 section, for grades 1-6. Since I don't think that some of the Grade 1 books belong in that section, and that some of the Grade 6 books don't belong in the 6th grade section, I am classifying them by Number as well as Colors for categorial difficulty. The colors are only relative within the grade-level that the book was classified in (before I was able to give my input), and the numbers span from a scale of 1-20, regardless of grade. Thus, I could have a book from grade 4 that is Green (easiest)3, meaning that I feel that book is fit for 1st or second graders, and that it is the easiest level in the 4th grade database. Anyway. It is fun. I'm not even 1/3 of the way done and I've already spent about 8 hours or more on it (because I am reading the books too, so that I can properly categorize them as to help kids out when they want to get a specific book or if I want to have a weekly theme or something...and also I am checking for typos and for sentences that don't make sense so I can not recommend those books...I can't believe some of the mistakes that were printed...). So at least I am doing something productive now. Although I don't have Excel on my computer now so I am doing it in a Word document (rather, notepad) and will have to copy it over when I get Excel on my computer and/or when I get my internet running again...rawr. But I like my new room - its much bigger, brighter, much more educational. Pictures soon to follow!
